We created our own colour wheel using pointillism.  Seurat believed that physically mixing colours made them dull so he used optical colour mixing.  He created colours by combining dots of two different colours which our eyes would merge to make a new colour, for example – our eyes would mix red and blue dots to make the colour purple.
